Create a stylish macrame plant hanger to display your favorite plants.

Materials & Tools Needed
Step-by-Step Instructions
Cut Cords
Cut four cords of macrame cord, each about 8-10 feet long. The length depends on how long you want your hanger to be.
💡 Pro Tip
Use a good quality cotton or jute macrame cord.
Attach Cords to Ring
Fold each cord in half. Attach them to the ring using a lark's head knot. You should have 8 doubled cords hanging from the ring.
Create Gathering Knot
About 2-3 inches down from the ring, gather all 8 cords together. Take one extra piece of cord (about 2 feet long), form a loop, and wrap it tightly around the gathered cords. Tuck the end through the loop and pull the top end to hide the knot.
💡 Pro Tip
Ensure the gathering knot is very tight to hold everything securely.
Knotting the Basket
Divide the 8 cords into 4 groups of 2. About 4-6 inches below the gathering knot, create a square knot with each pair of cords. Repeat this process for another 1-2 rows of square knots, alternating the cords to create a net pattern.
Finish and Add Tassel
Once the basket is formed, gather all 8 cords together and create another gathering knot about 2-3 inches below the last row of square knots. Trim the excess cords to create a tassel. You can unravel the ends of the tassel for a fuller look.
